Privacy Policy

How DeadRare handles your personal data.

Last updated: 18 July 2026

DeadRare ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we look after your personal data when you use deadrare.io, and your rights under data‑protection law.

This site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Please also read any other notices we provide when collecting data on specific occasions — this policy supplements, and does not override, them.

Who we are

DeadRare is the controller responsible for your personal data. We have appointed a data protection officer (DPO) who oversees questions about this policy. To exercise any right or ask a question, contact our DPO via Discord: discord.gg/BNuqnG5jZ9.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first, so please contact us before approaching the ICO.

The data we collect

Personal data is any information from which you can be identified. It does not include anonymous data. We may collect:

  • Identity Data — name, username or similar identifier.
  • Contact Data — email address and similar contact details.
  • Technical Data — IP address, browser type and version, time zone, operating system and platform, and your public wallet address as used on‑chain.
  • Profile & Usage Data — your preferences, feedback, and how you use the site.
  • Marketing Data — your communication preferences.

We also use Aggregated Data (e.g. statistical or demographic data) which does not identify you. We do not collect special‑category data (race, health, beliefs, and so on).

Because DeadRare is a non‑custodial marketplace, transactions are recorded on the public Alephium blockchain, which is outside our control.

How we collect it

  • Directly — when you contact us, create a listing, or give us feedback.
  • Automatically — technical and usage data collected via cookies and similar technologies as you interact with the site.
  • From third parties — analytics providers and publicly available sources.

How we use it

We only use your personal data where the law allows — most commonly to operate the service, for our legitimate interests (running and improving DeadRare) where these don't override your rights, or to comply with a legal obligation. We rely on consent for third‑party marketing, which you can withdraw at any time.

Marketing & cookies

We may send you information about DeadRare where you've requested it or used our services, and you can opt out at any time. We seek express opt‑in consent before sharing your data with third parties for marketing. You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, though parts of the site may then not work properly.

Disclosures

We may share your data with service providers acting on our behalf, professional advisers, regulators and tax authorities, or a successor entity if our business is sold or merged. We require all third parties to protect your data and to use it only as instructed.

International transfers & security

Where we transfer data outside the UK, we ensure a comparable level of protection through approved safeguards. We use appropriate security measures to protect your data and limit access to those who need it, and we have procedures to deal with any suspected breach.

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it, including legal, accounting and reporting requirements. In some cases we may anonymise it for research or statistical purposes and retain it indefinitely.

Your rights

Under data‑protection law you may: request access to your data; request correction or erasure; object to or request restriction of processing; request transfer of your data; and withdraw consent at any time. You won't normally pay a fee, and we aim to respond within one month.

Changes

We keep this policy under review and will post any updates here. Please check back periodically.
